Studies show that sleep deprivation reduces our ability to concentrate, think logically handle complex tasks, assimilate new information, make decisions, and communicate clearly. In addition to offering tips for getting a good night sleep, this interactive workshop features six substantiated strategies for decreasing fatigue and increasing energy.

Countless studies have shown the effectiveness of Meditation in Stress Management, Cardiac Recovery, increased productivity and clarity, and decreased illness. At this workshop, you will practice several meditation techniques and be inspired to incorporate the practice into your life.

Juggling so many responsibilities leaves us little time to care for our own needs. Fatigue, tension, tight budgets, and aching backs add additional stress to existing challenges. At this workshop, you will have an opportunity to assess your needs, express your frustrations and fears, relax your mind, and move your body. You will learn relaxation and meditation techniques, YOGA for stress relief, and practices for overcoming insomnia.

In this program, people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels are introduced to “YOGA for Stress Relief “ and motivated to try a walking program, using pedometers as motivators. The “Active Living Pedometer Program” is based on the work of Robert Sweetgall who has walked seven times across the USA. This pedometer kit includes a digi-walker pedometer and safety strap, incentive package, and booklet with logging system. (Pedometer kits average $25 each.)

In launching a healthy lifestyle, it is important to accept our own body shape and size and start where you are. This class emphasizes the importance of eating seasonal, locally-grown, organic, whole foods and does not use the word "diet." . Inasmuch as the best exercise is the one you’ll do, we identify the movement practices you'll enjoy.

This dynamic book study group gives you the opportunity to restore, revitalize and deepen your experience of life in your later years through reflection, dialogue, meditation, nature walks, YOGA, art, poetry, and journaling.
